The tomb of the most eloquent and beloved man, Master William Welles,
Bachelor in Sacred Theology, Rector of this Church, and Prebendary of the Cathedral Church; Who, after 30 years spent in this famous city with outstanding holiness of life and sweetness of manners, together with remarkable and tireless diligence in pastoral business, all conducted with the highest praise; full of the best fame, and missed by all good people and by the church of God, fell asleep in the Lord before his time, but contentedly, in the sure hope of resurrection, in the year of our Lord 1620, on May 26th, at the age of 54.
