Warton, Joseph

In Latin: Here lies buried Joseph Warton, DD, Prebendary of this Church, for nearly thirty years Headmaster of Winchester College. A poet of feeling, ease and polish: a critic erudite, insightful and elegant. He died 23rd February 1800, aged 77.
