In Latin: Below are laid the remains of JOHN MOORE, Esquire, Batchelor of Laws., Archivist of the Consistory Court of Norwich, Keeper of the Principal Registry. He was the eldest son of that most learned man and true father in Christ, the Reverend John Moore, S.T.P., for sixteen years Dean of Norwich and afterwards for seven years a most worthy Bishop of Ely — The man was sharp in mind, well educated in fine letters, with a keen memory. Excellently adorned with gifts of mind, he lived in in integrity, courtesy and benevolence towards friends, neighbours and the poor. At his death he bequeathed five hundred pounds to relieve the widows of the Norfolk clergy. He died on the 6th day of January in the Year of Our Lord 1725/6, in the 46th year of his age.
