Head, Richard

In Latin:
Richard Head, Baronet is here laid to rest.
He died on the 18th day of September in the year of Salvation 1689, aged 80.
This most ancient of cities gave him both his cradle and his tomb.
From here he was very often sent to the sessions of Parliament.
With the greatest fidelity to king and country,
with diligence and integrity,
he performed his service.
Dear to all, benign to all, and of a humane disposition,
he relieved the poor and bestowed many benefactions.
He took three wives, quite distinguished;
two were very fruitful, from whom, as a happy father,
he saw a numerous offspring—eleven children of his own.
And the children of his children,
the eldest of whom—the grandson of his firstborn—
placed this sepulchral marble
as a memorial sacred to his grandfather.
Set up by Sir Francis Head, Baronet.
