Gilbert, Sarah
In Latin: Beneath this tomb are laid the ashes of Sarah Gilbert, recently the most beloved wife of Robert Gilbert, a canon of this church. She possessed the highest piety, uncorrupted faith, outstanding virtue, and universal charity, of which no equal can be found. Having lived her life sedulously, in all good works, she is mourned deeply, especially by her husband. Placing her hope in the merits of Christ, she breathed out her soul without a sigh.
