Translation: Esther Finch, a most chaste woman, obedient to her husband, and sweet in the care of her children (of whom she left seven). A provident mother, sincerely pious, keen in her benignity to the poor, liberal towards all, and conspicuous in the sanctity of her morals. While she was alive, she was at once the ornament and solace of her husband, now she is dead, his sorrow cannot be expressed. She lived 41 years, 5 months, 11 days, and died on May 4, 1673.
