of William Rolfe,
a highly experienced Proctor of the Municipal Court
among the citizens of Norwich,
who
with a keen mind,
with almost incredible industry,
and yet with his reputation unimpaired,
acquired a great estate.
To orphaned children and to the widows of the clergy
he left one hundred pounds;
to the poor in the city’s hospital,
two hundred;
to his relatives,
about seven thousand;
and the remainder
he bequeathed by his will
to Edmund Rolfe of Heacham in the county of Norfolk, gentleman.
He lived 84 years.
He died on the 13th day of April,
1754.
